FC 27 Dynamic OVR Explained: Form, Morale and Match Fitness
How FC 27 Career Mode ratings rise and fall with Form, Morale and Match Fitness.
Updated — from EA's FC 27 Career Mode deep dive
In FC 27 Career Mode a player's overall rating is no longer fixed for the season. Dynamic OVR moves up and down with three things: Form, Morale and Match Fitness. A player on a hot streak can play above their usual level; an injury, a bad run or no minutes can drag the number down, with no change to their underlying ability. Here is how each part works, from EA's FC 27 Career Mode deep dive.
What Dynamic OVR is
EA calls it the biggest change to player ratings in Career Mode. OVR now shows how a player is doing this season, not a fixed measure of ability. It applies to every player, at your club and at AI clubs, and it is shown with a breakdown in Team Management, the Squad Hub, Development Plans and Scout Reports, so you can see why a rating moved.
Form
Form no longer adds a fixed boost. It pushes a player toward a target rating set by their current form and their long-term potential. So two players in the same form can get different boosts: a young player with room to grow can jump much more than a veteran already near their ceiling. Form also raises the attributes that matter for the player's positions, not attributes at random.
Morale
Morale now feeds straight into Dynamic OVR. Playing time, squad roles and the expectations you set all move it, and it swings more than before across a long season. Good results lift morale too, which can start a run of momentum.
Match Fitness
New in FC 27: a player's readiness at kick-off, from Peak down to Unfit, made of their energy level and injury status. It never gives a boost; it only penalises a player who is not ready. Keep it up by rotating, resting and managing injuries. Training Plans were removed to make room for it, apart from the Energy Recovery setting.
Injuries
Injuries happen more often with Authentic gameplay, and light injuries can now carry past matchday. You can play someone through a light knock, but you risk turning it into a serious one. Injuries also hit Form and Morale.
Potential, positions and value
Dynamic OVR is tied to development: a player who keeps beating expectations can raise their ceiling, and a long bad run slows their growth (Dynamic Potential, which now also applies to AI teams in Deeper Simulation leagues). A player keeps their Form and Morale boosts when you play them in one of their secondary positions. And because value now follows current form, a player having a great season costs more, while one out of form can be a bargain. FC 27 Career Mode transfers explains the new market.
