30 of the 36 were read in FC 27. The six marked FC 26 value are the Goal Keeping PlayStyles: FC 26’s thresholds, carried over and not yet read in FC 27. AP is from a new pro’s starting values, mastery bonuses not counted; 962 AP to spend at level 40.

FC 27 has 36 PlayStyles, and each asks for two or three attributes at 75, 80 or 85: 99 thresholds in all. Your archetype’s caps decide whether it can meet them, and its starting values decide what that costs. 15 are within reach of every archetype; Jockey is the hardest, reachable on 8 of 13. Aerial Fortress is the only one met at the start, on the Target, Boss and Progressor; the dearest to meet is Power Shot on the Progressor, 265 AP of your 962.

The prices come from the same model as our AP costs for all 13 archetypes, so a number here and a number there always agree.

What each archetype can reach

Seven of the 11 outfield archetypes can reach all 30 outfield PlayStyles: the Spark, Creator, Disruptor, Maestro, Recycler, Marauder and Progressor. The Finisher, Magician and Target reach 28 and the Boss 26. The keepers reach the fewest outfield ones, the Shot Stopper 15 and the Sweeper Keeper 20, on top of their six Goal Keeping PlayStyles.

The PlayStyles some outfield archetypes cannot reach

A cap is the highest an attribute can go on that archetype, so no amount of AP gets past it. Among outfield archetypes, only six PlayStyles are out of anyone’s reach, and two caps explain all of them:

• The Boss stops at 75 Curve, and Finesse Shot, Gamechanger, Incisive Pass and Inventive each ask for 80.
• The Finisher, Magician and Target all stop at 75 Stand Tackle, and Anticipate and Jockey each ask for 80.

Every other outfield PlayStyle is within reach of every outfield archetype, and the only question is the price. The cheapest threshold anyone pays for is Slide Tackle on the Recycler or the Boss, 15 AP.

Goal Keeping PlayStyles

The six Goal Keeping PlayStyles, 1v1 Close Down, Cross Claimer, Deflector, Far Reach, Far Throw and Footwork, belong to the Shot Stopper and Sweeper Keeper alone, whatever their thresholds name. Their thresholds are FC 26’s, not yet read in FC 27: a keeper’s PlayStyle list could not be read, so the values were carried over. Of the 30 outfield PlayStyles that were read, Chip Shot and Precision Header each changed an attribute from FC 26, so treat the keeper rows, marked in the table, as FC 26 numbers.

On those numbers the Sweeper Keeper pays less than the Shot Stopper for all six. The Shot Stopper’s specializations come with Cross Claimer+ (Shot Stopper+), 1v1 Close Down+ (Spider) and Deflector+ (Octopus); the Sweeper Keeper’s with Far Throw+ (Sweeper Keeper+), Long Ball Pass+ (Launcher) and Press Proven+ (Extra).

How many you can equip

Meeting a threshold is half of it; you also need a slot. At level 40, the FC 27 cap, you have three PlayStyle slots, opened at levels 5, 15 and 40, plus your archetype’s one signature PlayStyle. Specializations each come with a PlayStyle+; the most common is Slide Tackle+, on three of them (Destroyer on the Disruptor, Boss+ on the Boss and Marauder+ on the Marauder). Each of the 36 PlayStyles asks for two or three attributes at a minimum value, 99 thresholds in all, every one of them 75, 80 or 85. The table at the top lists them all.

Which PlayStyles can every archetype reach?

15 of the 30 outfield PlayStyles are within reach of all 13 archetypes, keepers included: Chip Shot, Precision Header, Long Ball Pass, Pinged Pass, Tiki Taka, Whipped Pass, Aerial Fortress, Block, Intercept, First Touch, Press Proven, Enforcer, Long Throw, Quick Step and Relentless. 24 are within reach of all 11 outfield archetypes.

Which PlayStyles are hardest to reach?

Jockey: 8 of the 13 archetypes can reach it. The Finisher, Magician and Target stop at 75 Stand Tackle; the Shot Stopper at 75 Def. Aware and 75 Stand Tackle; the Sweeper Keeper at 75 Def. Aware.

Can outfield players use Goal Keeping PlayStyles?

No. The six Goal Keeping PlayStyles are for the Shot Stopper and Sweeper Keeper only, even 1v1 Close Down, whose thresholds (Acceleration 80, Agility 75, Aggression 80) are all outfield attributes.

Are the goalkeeper PlayStyle requirements confirmed for FC 27?

Not yet. The 30 outfield PlayStyles were read in FC 27; the six Goal Keeping ones are FC 26’s thresholds, carried over because a keeper’s PlayStyle list could not be read. Between FC 26 and FC 27, Chip Shot and Precision Header each changed an attribute, so the keeper values may still differ.
